Richard Adams - Visual artist

About

Richard is a 30 year old artist who resides in Bristol. Richard completed his A-Level in Fine Art and went on to study at the Metáfora School of Art in Barcelona.

He has always been drawn to landscape painting, working across a variety of mediums using light, colour and composition to evoke a scene. Realism and Impressionism are big sources of inspiration, including artists such as Hopper, Sorolla and Singer Sargent. Richard also works extensively with charcoal with a particular interest in light and shadow work.

His work in still life and cyanotypes continues to experiment with light as a subject matter in its own right, working with refraction and translucent materials to create striking images of cut glass and abstract prints inspired by the Catalan coast.
