Richard Adams - Visual artist

About

Richard is a 30 year old artist who resides in Bristol. Richard completed his A-Level in Fine Art and went to study at the Metáfora School of Art in Barcelona.

He has always been drawn to landscape painting, working across a variety of mediums using light, colour and composition to evoke a scene. Realism and Impressionism are big sources of inspiration, including artists such as Hopper, Sorolla and Singer Sargent.

His work in still life and cyanotypes continues to experiment with light as a subject matter in its own right, working with refraction and translucent materials to create striking images of cut glass and abstract prints inspired by the Catalan coast.

Richard also works with portraiture, primarily in charcoal and graphite with a particular interest in light and shadow work, as well as exploring queer identities.
